Coleman For Senate Releases “Minnesota Farm Families” Webvideo
Rochester-Area Farmer Duane Alberts Discusses Senator Coleman’s Hard Work on Behalf of Minnesota Farmers
Saint Paul – The Coleman for Senate campaign today released “Minnesota Farm Families,” a webvideo featuring Duane Alberts, a Pine Island dairy farmer discussing Senator Coleman’s work in the Senate on behalf of the Minnesota ag community. Alberts, whose family has farmed in Pine Island for nearly a century, details some of the Senator’s important legislative efforts including improvements to the farm safety net, the MILC (Milk Income Loss Contract) Program, as well as his important work on the Farm Bill.
“Norm Coleman understands that the wealth of this nation is created by individuals and small businesses,” said Duane in the webvido. “It’s created by the private sector, not the government, and he makes sure that the private sector has the tools they need to succeed and prosper. He knows how to get things done, and he does an outstanding job of representing Minnesota, representing rural Minnesota, representing the farmers of Minnesota. His feet are firmly planted on the ground.”
The Alberts have lived on and maintained Pine Shelter Farms since 1917. Their herd is the largest of its type in Minnesota, and includes a past Grand Champion of the World Dairy Expo. Duane runs the farm in partnership with his two brothers and sister, and is a member of the Minnesota Farm Bureau Board of Directors, representing District One.
