Senate amendment could save Beltrami as much as $2 million

An amendment approved Thursday to delay implementing a federal rule could save Beltrami County as much as $2 million in property tax dollars.
The amendment, whose co-authors include Sens. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., and Amy Klobuchar, DFL-Minn., would delay until March 2009 proposed rules by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that would reduce federal reimbursement for targeted case management services.
