WASHINGTON — The House moved quickly Thursday to approve an amended economic stimulus package and send it to President Bush.
The 380-34 House vote came after the Senate had reached agreement on a broader version of what the House had passed last week. The Senate amended the package to give $300 rebates to 20 million seniors and 250,000 disabled veterans.
Minnesota Sens. Norm Coleman, a Republican, and Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat, voted in favor of the package. Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann also voted in favor of it.
The package is expected to be sent to President Bush soon. Bush has said he would sign it into law.
