Coleman Pays Visit to Local Crowd

U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., launched his re-election campaign Wednesday with several stops across Minnesota, including an evening rally in Moorhead.
Vowing to be a “voice of optimism in a cynical time,” Coleman made a number of comments that appeared to be aimed at Al Franken, a satirist and former star of the TV show “Saturday Night Live,” who is vying to be the Democratic candidate for the seat Coleman holds. Public service, Coleman told a crowd gathered in a large room of the Courtyard by Marriott, “is not about celebrity, it’s about problem solving. “I’m running on my record, because unlike my likely opponent, I have one.”
