Coleman, Klobuchar push for more judges

Sens. Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar said today they will push legislation that would add three federal judgeships in Minnesota to help reduce the caseloads for the district's seven judges

Minnesota's federal judges carry some of the heaviest caseloads in the nation. In fiscal year 2007, they ranked third nationwide, and in 2006, they ranked second.

Republican Coleman and DFLer Klobuchar met in Washington Tuesday afternoon with three of the state's federal judges, Chief Judge James Rosenbaum and Judges Michael Davis and Ann Montgomery.
