Senator Coleman To Fight Against Democratic Tax Increases

This week the Senate will begin voting on a new budget. Written by the Democratic allies of Al Franken, the budget increases government spending by as much as $211 billion and which would be paid for by record tax increases. Senator Coleman will be voting against these tax increases because, unlike the Democrats, he doesn’t believe we should tax our “families, small businesses and seniors” to pay for needless spending increases, especially with our uncertain economy:

After three years of rapidly falling budget deficits, Senate Democrats have proposed a budget that would reverse this progress by increasing spending by tens of billions of dollars. In doing so, the proposed budget would increase the debt by hundreds of billions of dollars, and hit American families, small businesses and seniors with record tax increases. Failing to extend critical tax relief means an average American family would face a $2,300 tax increase, while a single mother of two children would have to pay nearly $100 more in taxes each month.

During my time in the Senate I have supported tax cuts to not only help grow the economy and jobs for Minnesota families, but also provide critical relief for average Minnesotans. I have also worked to provide a helping hand to Minnesotans in need by supporting additional funding for programs like the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, food stamps, and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, as well as increasing the minimum wage.

During the budget debate, you can be sure that I will work for a fiscally responsible plan that protects Minnesota priorities, while also defending the bottom line for Minnesota families, small businesses and seniors. In tough economic times, the answer is to enact permanent tax relief and to restrain federal spending - not raising taxes and taking more money out of people’s pockets.

Senator Coleman will stand up for hard working Minnesotans by opposing these tax increases, so how about those that want his job? Back To The Coleman Blog

Between state and federal income taxes, my husband and I pay approx. $2000 each month to the government. HELP us keep our money. Do not repeal the Bush tax cuts and do not let Democrats continue to raise taxes!!

Small Business owner

When can we get the dems to understand that cutting business taxes create jobs, increases send companies overseas and out of reach of our tax base forever along with jobs. We can't afford to have this keep happening! What will our decendents do? We are becoming a 3rd world country at the rate taxes increase. I believe Sen.Coleman believes this. Go NORM11
