COLEMAN CAMPAIGN: WE LEAD BY 2,200 VOTES!***

***(Okay, Maybe Not, But Al Franken Does Not Hold A Lead In The Recount)

As Al Franken’s campaign sees the re-election of Saxby Chambliss impacting the enthusiasm of Democrats to overturn the results of a Minnesota recount, his campaign today held a press conference in which they declared they now hold a 22 vote lead over Norm Coleman in the recount.

In addition, they also announced they were withdrawing over 600 ballot challenges, which underscores the fact that a great majority of their challenges are likely to be frivolous, and therefore, making their efforts to overturn the recount even more difficult.

The following statement was released by Coleman for Senate Campaign Manager Cullen Sheehan:

“The Franken Campaign invented a story of an 84 year old stroke victim in a shameless effort to make a political point.  Today, they’ve invented a story of a lead in the recount.  Both stories are false, and both stories will be held up as evidence of a campaign that has been prepared to say and do anything to win an election that they lost on election night.  We have confidence that on Friday the results of the recount will show Norm Coleman has emerged, again, as the winner of the 2008 United States Senate election.”

How about December 16th

I want to believe that the Coleman camp is as confident as they appear... but on Friday all we will see is the number that includes 100's if not 1000's of challenges. In other words, there is no winner declared on Friday.

I would prefer that the Coleman camp issue a statement that they are confident that they will be ahead after the the Canvassing board runs through the challenges starting on December 16th.

THIS IS HILARIOUS. THIS BLOGIS FILLED WITH NONSENSETO TRY TO ILLUSTRATE A LEAD THAT DOES NOT EXIST AND DEVELOP AN ATTITUDE THAT THE FRANKEN CAMPAIGN IS WASTING OUR TIME WITH THE RECOUNT.

FRANKEN'S PEOPLE WITHDREW OVER 600 CHALLENGES- THEY HAD FEWER CHALLENGES ON THE TABLE THEN YOUR TEAM EVEN BEFORE THAT ACTION.

YET YOU CONTINUE TO CLAIM THAT THEIR CHALLENGES ARE FRIVOLOUS.

SET ASIDE THE ARROGANCE THAT HAS MARKED COLEMAN'S CAMPAIGN AND CAREER AND LET THIS PROCESS PLAY OUT.

Fully agree with Jack. Senator Coleman and his staff need to gro up and make sure all the votes are counted.

What are you afraid of?

Norm Coleman needs to stop blocking efforts to count votes. Every vote cast in the Minnesota Senate election deserves to be counted.

Nothing more needs to be said and nothing less needs to be demanded from the Coleman campaign.
