Senator Coleman Proposes Comprehensive Energy Infrastructure Upgrades

Yesterday, Norm unveiled an aggressive and innovative plan to update the country’s energy infrastructure to meet today’s changing and diverse energy needs by calling for the establishment of a National Energy Infrastructure Trust Fund. The fund would use federal revenues from new oil and natural gas development on the Outer Continental Shelf and this plan will help make the U.S. more energy independent while enabling us to capitalize on a wide variety of alternative energy sources. This forward-thinking plan puts into motion a pro-active strategy to both update old and inefficient energy infrastructure and lay the foundation for efficient production and use of wind, solar, biofuels and other next generation technologies.
