Coleman childhood cancer bill passes unanimously!
Taking a huge step forward, last night the U.S. Senate unanimously approved new legislation that dedicates significant federal resources to a large-scale initiative to fight childhood cancer. The initiative will fund research, technology and support for children and families affected by the terrible disease.
The bill, the Conquer Childhood Cancer Act of 2007, was authored and introduced by Senator Norm Coleman in 2006. It had the backing of 64 Senate co-sponsors from both sides of the aisle. The bill now heads to the President’s desk for his signature.
