Coleman Radio Ad Focuses on Energy Solutions, Exploration and Efficiency
SAINT PAUL – As Minnesotans prepare to head to the lakes over the Fourth of July weekend with record gas prices, the Coleman for Senate campaign released a new radio ad that features Senator Coleman sharing his concerns about high energy prices, and his commitment to new energy solutions and greater exploration for domestic energy.
"Minnesotans are feeling the pinch of high fuel prices, and the Senator believes one piece of the answer lies in greater energy exploration and environmentally sound drilling offshore," said Cullen Sheehan, campaign manager. "This ad is intended to remind Minnesotans that he shares their concerns about energy needs facing the nation, but that he has also been doing something about it with a strategy that offers real solutions to our nation's energy challenges."

Script For “Hitting the Road With Norm Coleman”
Senator Coleman: "Hi, I'm Norm Coleman. It's Fourth of July weekend and families are hitting the road. My family and I are going to our cabin on Lake Ada for a little break, and hopefully the walleye will be biting. Of course, the trip is going to start off with something that's pretty painful today, and that's filling up the car. Minnesota families are getting hammered by high gas prices. I don't care who you are, every time you pull up to the pump you're holding your breath. That's why I'm opposed to higher gas taxes; why I'm working to end our dependence on foreign oil with renewables like wind, solar and biofuels; and why I support exploring for new sources of oil at home that are safe and environmentally sound. If we work together, Republicans and Democrats, we can solve our energy problems. I'm Norm Coleman, I approve this message and wish each of you a safe and happy Fourth of July. Now, if you excuse me, I'm gonna catch some fish."

Back To The Coleman BlogDrill in ANWR
It is time to satr drilling in ANWR. The Oil fields in Alaska have and continue to show the animals like the oil pipelines. Also, for the Pristine Wilderness Nuts, the drilling will only be in an area the size of a postage stamp on the area of a football field. If You doubt our American Oil Drilling Companies can do the job well, you should go to Galveston, Texas and go on the off-shore oil drilling rig they have there for public viewing. If that doesn't show you how good our oil drilling companies are, you must have missed something.By: Mr. Lynn W. Carlson
Construction of new Stillwater Bridge
What is holding up the construction of the new Stillwater Bridge. I thought the environmentalists were holding it up in court but it looks like everything is GO. Also, this is the last of the eight bridges under the new review rules and the other eight are already completed. Let's get this bridge built now so we don't hold up the Corps of Engineers and have a disaster like NEw Orleans did because they didn't let the Engineers build the sea wall that would have saved the billions of dollars we have wasted in New Orleans and the people who died in Katrina because the COrp of Engineers Sea WAll was not built in 1994. Drilling off shore?
With oil company profits at record numbers. What's the real story on how much of that oil is actually used by Americans? I might be for it if it would be dedicated to Americans use.By: WLS
concerned citizen
Senator,I support you; I contributed to your campaign. But I am still disappointed that you nor the Republican Party leadership are not more demanding to end the dependence on foreign oil. I hear words, words, words and platitudes. No one wants to face the fact that we are in the worst crisis of our lifetimes, maybe our history. It is time for a strategic plan, with timetables and $ commitments. We have a wealth of technology. We have a willing population. What is lacking is agressive and thoughtful leadership. We must develop alternative energy sources from every possible source. I agree: wind, solar, biofuels are important. As a conservative Republican, I must insist that the USA must have a focus on CONSERVATION of energy. Why is no one talking about nuclear? It has to be political fear. Why is no one talking about COAL? Yes, that is a dirty word, but why not develop and harness the thinking of American experts to clean up the coal emissions to an acceptable level. And for gosh sakes, lets use every possible source for oil, Arctic included....of course with strict environmental controls. It is time for a strategic initiative that will harness the creative energy and capacity of America. We have demonstrated repeatedly that we can do it; what is lacking is a strategic plan for short term efforts and long term solutions!
I realize that a lower lever reader will read this and send a canned reply about how concerned you are. But please, if you are sincere about doing the job, please give this to Senator Coleman for his consideration. I do not expect a reply...just action.
Thank you
